2024 Art of Soul! Juried Art Show Call for Artists

The National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center (NAAMCC) presents the 10th annual 2024 Art of Soul! Juried Art Show in Wilberforce, Ohio, opening on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Artists from across the United States and beyond can submit their work to the juried art exhibition in response to the themes of Social Justice and Black Joy. The final deadline for all entries is Friday, July 12, 2024, at 4 pm. Only completed submissions with paid entry fee(s) will be accepted.

We have some exciting news and improvements for the 2024 show:

  • We will be using an online submission process for all entries. You can also pay your entry fee(s) through this portal.
  • The Best of Show prize is now $3,000!
  • There will be three First Place Prizes – First Place- Social Justice: $1000, First Place – Black Joy: $1000, and First Place – Black Joy within Social Justice: $1000.
  • In celebration of the tenth year of Art of Soul!, we are introducing the NAAMCC Legacy Award, which will be given to a pioneering artist whose extensive career in the field has served as an inspiration to others.
  • NAAMCC is discontinuing the art sales portion of the exhibition. We will connect interested buyers directly with artists who can negotiate art sales without NAAMCC taking a commission.

Click here to open the online Call for Artists document. All submissions should emphasize either or both themes, as well as perspectives related to the African diaspora and/or African American culture, history, or experience. A hand-selected panel of jurors will evaluate all submissions. Participants and winners will be recognized at the Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony at the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center, 1350 Brush Row Rd., Wilberforce, Ohio 45384, on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

We can’t wait to see your creativity and interpretations of Social Justice and Black Joy. For more information, email [email protected]. You will receive a response in 24 hours during the workweek.
